The reason people hate on these guys is because they’re canned. They were groomed, given pre-written songs, most of their instruments are played by studio musicians who never get any credit, and their voices are autotuned.
It’s sacharine. These guys are overproduced strawmen. They’d never have gotten anywhere without Disney sayin, ok you three cute lil bros, we’re gonna dress you like the Beatles and tailor make and sell a prefabricated image.
If they weren’t fake, I’d give em props.

@revelinabandon Yes, they were taken in by Disney who marketed them for all they’re worth. But they really are talented. And only a fan would know how much. They write all their own songs and they play their own instruments. And their voices are not fixed. They’re not fake either. They do maintain an image for Disney, but they were raised right. It’s a personal choice to not drink, and wear purity rings, etc. They worked so hard to get to where they are. They deserve everything they have.

I appreciate your polite response. I just don’t buy it though, about them writing their own songs, playing their own instruments etc. I am a musician myself for 23 years, and I know what is studio work, and I know when people are lip synching, or jumping around in such a fashion that might make for a good show, but doesn’t allow for good guitar playing.
They might say they do it all, but they don’t.

@revelinabandon They have a backup band, but they do play their own instruments. They’ve played acoustic sets many times, especially in 2005-2007. I suppose it could be hard to believe they write their own songs, but they do. I have all four of their CDs, and although on some songs they have help (although it’s mostly finetuning), they write their own songs for the most part. I know they’re not the best muscians, but they are very talented. Again, only a fan would know how much.
